UKG Seeks to Transform Multi-Country Payroll with Immedis Acquisition

UKG, a Brandon Hall Group™ Smartchoice® Preferred Provider, continues its aggressive growth and innovation agenda with the acquisition of leading global payroll provider Immedis.

The acquisition agreement, announced June 6 and expected to close within 60 days, enables UKG to offer a fully managed, multi-country payroll product and service, UKG One View. This offering will initially serve global businesses headquartered in the U.S. and Canada that seek support for processing payroll outside North America or want a unified, global view of their payroll around the world even if they have preferred payroll providers.

Multi-country payroll outsourcing can be a frustrating and complex endeavor for tech companies. This is a savvy move that allows UKG to build off of Immedis’ established global payroll brand that has technology and services supporting over 160 countries. Immedis, founded in Ireland in 2016, is a subsidiary of CluneTech, a suite of tech companies focused on simplifying global business that has had an ongoing partnership with UKG.

“Even in 2023, most companies still lack a single, reliable, and accurate way to understand how much they’re paying employees worldwide,” said Hugo Sarrazin, chief product and technology officer at UKG, said in a press release. “Those that do have invested in costly and time-consuming manual efforts, which still result in outdated information they can’t use proactively. The formidable combination of UKG and Immedis will be transformative and help us reshape and modernize how North American-based global businesses manage their people — and compliance — worldwide.”

When it goes live after closing, UKG One View will be part of the UKG Pro bundle and serve existing and new customers with multiple payroll provider relationships and high compliance requirements.

UKG One View will have an AI-powered perpetual validation engine and continuous workforce management integration to provide a real-time view across all employees, regardless of country or provider. The hybrid deployment model can be live in just weeks and will support 20+ languages.

This is a strong move in its own right. In combination with last month’s announcement of an expanded partnership with Google Cloud to use generative AI to create more powerful business insights, UKG strengthens its brand as an innovative, people-focused company positioned for aggressive growth across the global market.
