How New Media Differs from Old Media
Social learning technologies enable connections among people. A popular technology blogger, Robert Scoble, describes social media (another term to describe this type of technology) as Internet media that people can interact with. Put another way, social learning technologies are interactive Internet communication and content shared among connected, networked people.
Does this “new media” differ from “old media”? Yes. They differ primarily because new social media is the changeable and shareable digital content of individual users. It is interactive.
